Red Yeast Rice is a natural Asian food coloring that supports cholesterol levels already in the normal range. Source Naturals Red Yeast Rice is citrinin-free and standardized to 1.5% mixed mevinolinic acid monacolins. These monacolins address the root cause of maintaining normal cholesterol levels, blocking the synthesis of cholesterol by binding to the cholesterol production enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. Source Naturals recommends that a minimum of 30 mg of Coenzyme Q10 be taken daily in conjunction with the use of red yeast rice. Some research suggests that CoQ10 levels in the body may be lowered by compounds that work on the same metabolic pathway as red yeast rice.
Excipients: gelatin (capsule), dibasic calcium phosphate, colloidal silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate.
Warning: Do not use this product along with cholesterol medications, during pregnancy or nursing, with more than two alcoholic drinks per day, or if you are under twenty years of age.
